Identity Theft

identity n.  The distinguishing character or personality of an individual.  2.  The quality or condition of being exactly like something.

identification n. The act of identifying or the state of being identified.  2.  Means of proving who one is.

There is a whole wide world out there that just doesn’t give a flying fig how you do, it’s true!  All kinds of people in this world and most aren’t in it for you to win it.  The question therefore to ask yourself is this: What are you in it to win?

Identity Here Can Be Stolen – Identity Eternal Is Safe

Matthew 16:26

24-26Then Jesus went to work on his disciples. “Anyone who intends to come with me has to let me lead. You’re not in the driver’s seat; I am. Don’t run from suffering; embrace it. Follow me and I’ll show you how. Self-help is no help at all. Self-sacrifice is the way, my way, to finding yourself, your true self. What kind of deal is it to get everything you want but lose yourself? What could you ever trade your soul for?

If what you want to gain is what this world offers, and you have no other thoughts or plans, well, chances are you will go far.  You will also become someone single minded and focused just in what lies in the future of this world.  That kind of living is hopeless.  It always leaves you unsatisfied and wanting, wanting, wanting.  That’s just pure tiresome living.

If however there is a greater vision within your minds eye and what you want of this world, which is gain that comes in the next, you are going to have to have to buckle your seat belt because honey it’s going to be a bumpy, upside, inside, over the edge sort of ride.  Some might say that the life of a CHRISTian is for the weak, oh deary, that statement could not be more wrong.  But if you take a wrong turn and detour onto the streets of this world, that’s exactly the lie you will believe.  That’s exactly the sort of thinking that gets you reminded of the streets of past, the streets of destruction where it’s all death and dying and darkness.

It’s the credentials that show others who exactly you are teamed up with.  It’s the identity in-Christ Jesus.  It’s not about belonging to this denomination or that.  It’s so not any of that!  That’s for the world and man and it’s thinking and tweaking of the Word of GOD.  GOD doesn’t build denominational walls.  If that was the way it was to be… well you know what?  Read the Word of GOD.  GOD came to build up and tear down all that man made construction of walls and identifying one with man made things.  Nope, this world and all that is in it is going to one day go bye-bye.  All but those who are in-Christ.

Stamp of Approval

There are all kinds of people in this world.  All sorts of people who put on all sorts of faces, even one that might look just like you.  There is also one in this world just waiting to steal your true identity.  The only way to protect yourself from this identity theft is have your identity safe and sound in Christ Jesus.

Son’s of Light and Daughters of Day

Tell me you don’t think that is just a pretty thing to be?  If you do not, just maybe you are one of the enemies helpers and not one of His Own.  Sad for you, but yet… there is always hope.  For as much as he has his minions at work in this world, there are all kinds of people praying and knowing that it is only GOD who can change the heart of man and give them His Eternal Plan.

There is only One Savior and we can never be Him!

Yes there are all kinds of people in this world.  Who you choose to be, who you and I allow others to claim us to be, is a choice we make.  Some will indeed lie to you, some will wear all sorts of faces.  The reminder for us to continue to allow ourselves to be reminded of Who’s sons and daughters we belong to.  For some, it might be that you need to remind yourself on a daily basis.  That’s quite all right.  It doesn’t make you weak, it doesn’t mean your faith is feeble.  It doesn’t even mean you are not strong.  It just means that when you are weak, your strength is found in-Christ.  We are, as Scrirpture says at our strongest at those points.  Hang in there, Help, your Helper, is always on the way.  There is no better way to do this, to find your identity than to be reading the Word of GOD.  This is where all GOD’s sons and daughters hear from Him.

So today keep calm alright and carry on knowing that your identity, in spite of what anyone in this world says, is what affords you to carry on, because you are not a wayward son or daughter.  You are His, joint heirs and children with an inheritance beyond description.  What’s coming your way, long after this world ends is something worth hanging on for.

1 Thessalonians 5:8-10

4-8But friends, you’re not in the dark, so how could you be taken off guard by any of this? You’re sons of Light, daughters of Day. We live under wide open skies and know where we stand. So let’s not sleepwalk through life like those others. Let’s keep our eyes open and be smart. People sleep at night and get drunk at night. But not us! Since we’re creatures of Day, let’s act like it. Walk out into the daylight sober, dressed up in faith, love, and the hope of salvation.

9-11God didn’t set us up for an angry rejection but for salvation by our Master, Jesus Christ. He died for us, a death that triggered life. Whether we’re awake with the living or asleep with the dead, we’re alive with him! So speak encouraging words to one another. Build up hope so you’ll all be together in this, no one left out, no one left behind. I know you’re already doing this; just keep on doing it.

Friends of Job

You might even have a few of them living around you.  All those good people who just are going to tell you how to get it right, where you made a wrong turn, why this and why that is happening to you.  Seriously?  Read Job and find out just what GOD thought of those good friends of His.  Those preachy, educated and filled up to the brim friends of Job.  Oh yes, they had a mouthful of words to say about what Job was facing.  They surely were not ready to shut-it until… again, read it for yourself.  It’s such a glory story.

Balanced Thinking

You might as well know this if you are not Bible Believing Christ-centered CHRISTian too.  All the yuck-and-muck of the world, it falls on the just and the unjust alike.  It’s the way things go.  There is payday though.  It’s that thing I continue to blog about where I remind you, and myself as well that GOD’s justice doesn’t look anything at all like mans.  It’s a hard pill to swallow but it’s GOD-medicine and that is where the Hope-filled pill is easy to swallow.  If you aren’t filling yourself up with all that medicine in the Word of GOD for your soul you are going to get a sour taste for what man offers up as being a christian out there in this world.  Job had a taste of it when all hell broke loose on him.  It can happen to you and I.  It does happen to you and I.  When the going gets tough though, the job for us all is to be reminded of Job.

Okay I misspoke, or typed, what ever.  I’ve decided to give you a little taste and read sample just in case you weren’t going to the Bible and reading Job.  Or maybe you didn’t have a Bible.  What ever the reason I’ve decided that you need to just read a wee bit now, and I think you’ll want to hear the rest of the story.  It sort of helps to make my point today.  And with this passage I’ll close.  I’ve said enough.  GOD however, His Word is Eternal too!  How about you?

Job 1

1-3Job was a man who lived in Uz. He was honest inside and out, a man of his word, who was totally devoted to God and hated evil with a passion. He had seven sons and three daughters. He was also very wealthy—seven thousand head of sheep, three thousand camels, five hundred teams of oxen, five hundred donkeys, and a huge staff of servants—the most influential man in all the East!

4-5 His sons used to take turns hosting parties in their homes, always inviting their three sisters to join them in their merrymaking. When the parties were over, Job would get up early in the morning and sacrifice a burnt offering for each of his children, thinking, “Maybe one of them sinned by defying God inwardly.” Job made a habit of this sacrificial atonement, just in case they’d sinned.

The First Test: Family and Fortune

6-7One day when the angels came to report to God, Satan, who was the Designated Accuser, came along with them. God singled out Satan and said, “What have you been up to?”

Satan answered God, “Going here and there, checking things out on earth.”

8 God said to Satan, “Have you noticed my friend Job? There’s no one quite like him—honest and true to his word, totally devoted to God and hating evil.”

9-10 Satan retorted, “So do you think Job does all that out of the sheer goodness of his heart? Why, no one ever had it so good! You pamper him like a pet, make sure nothing bad ever happens to him or his family or his possessions, bless everything he does—he can’t lose!

11 “But what do you think would happen if you reached down and took away everything that is his? He’d curse you right to your face, that’s what.”

Until all have heard of and know, His Love,

Jeannie Bee
