Four Seasons

Because… HIS ♥ does indeed endure forever and always!

The Day You Were Born

Psalm 97

God rules: there’s something to shout over! On the double, mainlands and islands—celebrate!

2 Bright clouds and storm clouds circle ’round him;
Right and justice anchor his rule.

3 Fire blazes out before him,
Flaming high up the craggy mountains.

4 His lightnings light up the world;
Earth, wide-eyed, trembles in fear.

5 The mountains take one look at God
And melt, melt like wax before earth’s Lord.

6 The heavens announce that he’ll set everything right,
And everyone will see it happen—glorious!

7-8 All who serve handcrafted gods will be sorry—
And they were so proud of their ragamuffin gods!   On your knees, all you gods—worship him!
And Zion, you listen and take heart!

Daughters of Zion, sing your hearts out:
God has done it all, has set everything right.

9 You, God, are High God of the cosmos,
Far, far higher than any of the gods.

10 God loves all who hate evil,
And those who love him he keeps safe,
Snatches them from the grip of the wicked.

11 Light-seeds are planted in the souls of God’s people,
Joy-seeds are planted in good heart-soil.

12 So, God’s people, shout praise to God,
Give thanks to our Holy God!

Maybe you have not personalized this relationship with *GOD* yet.  Maybe to you, you are still one of throngs of people who keep getting introduced to Him, but you keep looking for something to add to, or more.

Each season of life we are afforded an opportunity, yes I said opportunity, to grow closer to *GOD*.   Some people, even some pastors and CHRISTian teachers have no real clue what that means.  They’ve yet to experience the that trust, that amazing graceful resting place that comes from completely resting and trusting in *HIM*.  I don’t say this disrespectfully, I’m saying it because it’s a fact.  Some people claim to be trusting and resting in Him, but truth be told, take away the fold, and I’m pretty sure they panic.  This is why we will often hear messages about tithing come into play during seasons where the good and plenty, is not so good for them, and the plenty, needs replenishing.  It’s true.  Take away all that and at that point, they’ll see the *GOD* of PLENTY* take over their lives.

Now that’s not what I’m here to share about this morning, but it’s a good starting place.  What I’m sharing is about all the seasonal opportunities mankind has been given to commit to theLORD, JESUS CHRIST.  I’m watching more and more people who say they know the Lord, share more about the latest thing Oprah has conjured up, rather than that of something*GOD* shared from HIS WORD, or in their private time.

Why is it we allow some people like Oprah, Dr. Oz, Dr. Phil, even a time of death, like Whitney Houston’s passing, to be a time when we start to talk about Heaven, as if it’s some magical time for Whitney Houston to be singing in Heaven.  As if Heaven, wasn’t complete until she died.  We fail to talk about Whitney Houston and the example of what she didn’t do, how she didn’t allow herself to be healed, to allow her life to fully rest in Him.

Now don’t get all mad at me here, but wouldn’t it be a better lesson from her life to show what “not to do”?  Wouldn’t it be better to share the truth of the situation? Let’s be honest about it all.  There were a lot of enablers around helping her be able to do what she did to herself.  This is the tragedy.  This is the problem.  Someone(s) made her bigger than life.  Bigger than the big picture that she needed to face.  How about we don’t allow these people on the scene until they are sober and clean?  How about the Whitney’s and Charlies become examples of what not to do, even though they are majorly talented people?  I’m just saying we can do more good with that, and not be damaging their reputations, because in all honesty, they did that themselves.  It’s time we take ownership for the choices we make.  At least that’s how I hear it daily.  We even hear that sort of dealio from Nancy Grace and all the others spouting lots verbiage out there.  Each time someone apparently enables someone to be a child this or that, we are all about who didn’t notice, or who did nothing, right?  It’s true, so why is it we aren’t telling the whole truth, and nothing but the truth now?

I’ll tell you why?  It’s because this is how we are now rolling in the world.  There is so little hidden, and for a reason.  It’s because just like the song the Four Seasons wrote, “Working My Way Back To You”, that’s exactly what we are doing.  It’s the exact point in time we are living in.

We are making choices each day as Believers, or unbelievers, to work our way back to something.  We either choose the High road, or the low road.  We can each day make a choice to follow *GOD*ly precepts, or the way of the satan.  We can either choose to trust our life into Jesus’ Hands, or we can continue to look to these so called super human beings, who had way to much of everyone in their life, without really Trusting and Resting in Him.

You might not like what I’m sharing here, but it’s the truth.  At some point each person is going to have to stand before *GOD*He isn’t interested in your career path, but in your faith path.  He isn’t interested in whether you made it on mans high road, but that you took His road.  I’ve had a lot of loss of people, a lot of loss in my life, so I can share all this.  I know it’s a warm and fuzzy feeling to think that Whitney Houston is impressing *GOD* with a beautiful song, but really?  Is that the way it is?  Maybe, just maybe it’s the first time *GOD* is seeing her humbled before Him.  I think that’s what we should be sharing.

Now I have no idea how personal of a relationship she had with Jesus.  I didn’t know her personally enough, I pray she did have a repentant ♥ filled with a solid relationship.  If she did, she is with Jesus now.  If she is, she see’s that it all could have come out different.  She relied over and over again on sharing her story, while all the while never really being healed.  Part of that was not her fault.  It was because she made for great news, and little one on one chats, and well, being useful to all the people that are still living.  That is sad.  That is not being healed, and in fact is something that needs to stop.

I’m just saying, today try saying the words, “working my way back to You” and mean them to be that it’s time, we stop looking to make something from someone else’s life, and lean on the Everlasting Arms.  Let’s work our way out of the fix we’ve gotten ourselves into with all the media sharing, and look to the Word of GOD.  Yes, I know I’ve seen that a lot of words like “Jesus” and “GOD” were shared at Whitney Houston’s service.  I also saw something else.  I saw that a lot of people put on quite a performance and most of it put the spotlight on them.  When will that end?  I think if Whitney Houston is with Jesus, this would be something she herself would want us all to know.

She’d now for sure want to allow us all to know that she went her way, when in fact she truly could have gone His way.  She did a bit of Frank Sinatra and did it “my way”, and she’d like now, nothing more than to say, you can go your own way, or you can:

Trust And Obey Hymn

When we walk with the Lord in the light of His Word,
What a glory He sheds on our way!
While we do His good will, He abides with us still,
And with all who will trust and obey.

Trust and obey, for there’s no other way
To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.

Not a shadow can rise, not a cloud in the skies,
But His smile quickly drives it away;
Not a doubt or a fear, not a sigh or a tear,
Can abide while we trust and obey.

Trust and obey, for there’s no other way
To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.

Not a burden we bear, not a sorrow we share,
But our toil He doth richly repay;
Not a grief or a loss, not a frown or a cross,
But is blessed if we trust and obey.

Trust and obey, for there’s no other way
To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.

But we never can prove the delights of His love
Until all on the altar we lay;
For the favor He shows, for the joy He bestows,
Are for them who will trust and obey.

Trust and obey, for there’s no other way
To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.

Then in fellowship sweet we will sit at His feet.
Or we’ll walk by His side in the way.
What He says we will do, where He sends we will go;
Never fear, only trust and obey.

The Day We Die

His floodgate of mercy and grace is open to all who will come to trust and obey.  He has Living Water for all who don’t want to continue on in thirsting for something more of what the world offers up.  Each day you can be filled up to the brim of your life with the goodness He offers, or you can sit in anticipation to see what Oprah, Dr. Oz, and so many other man-made gods of this world want you to know.  I mean seriously, Oprah finds something to fill her up each day that is new news.  Today she found that this fulfilled her, tomorrow she find this or that.  When will you see this and know that there is a people group of Bible Believing, Christ-centered people who are already happy and fulfilled and no longer are they searching for that something?  If someone is telling you they found it, or they have it, and yet the next day they are saying it yet again, and it’s something new, doesn’t that sort of ring an alarm?  One that says, they are still searching and have yet to find that place where they truly do trust and obey.

Psalm 40:10-12

 9-10 I’ve preached YOU to the whole congregation,
I’ve kept back nothing, GOD—YOU know that.
I didn’t keep the news of YOUR ways
a secret, didn’t keep it to myself.
I told it all, how dependable YOU are, how thorough.
I didn’t hold back pieces of love and truth
For myself alone. I told it all,
let the congregation know the whole story.11-12 Now GOD, don’t hold out on me,
don’t hold back YOUR passion.
YOUR love and truth
are all that keeps me together.
When troubles ganged up on me,
a mob of sins past counting,
I was so swamped by guilt
I couldn’t see my way clear.
More guilt in my heart than hair on my head,
so heavy the guilt that my heart gave out.
Until all have heard of, and know His Love,
Jeannie Bee
