*Change of Life*
What Biblical growth is really all about.
*GOD*day to whomever has popped on in. Quite honestly, I’d like to know if someone does stop by. If anyone at all does read what I write. It’s such a funny thing blogging. For the longest time everyone told me I needed to write. Write a book Jeannie, you’re the best elementary Bible teacher I’ve ever seen Jeannie. All sorts of encouragement for writing, and yet… well, you just don’t know in this medium. I mean I see stats on how many people stop by and all, but you don’t know what they think. Which I guess can be a *GOD*thing in itself, right? I mean this way people aren’t sharing any criticism either =). Still, when you do this blog thing, it’s almost like stopping by someones home and visiting, but not saying a word while you are there. It is a bit of a season of “testing and trial”. I’ve always loved writing, teaching Bible, learning the Bible, growing in the Word, and although sure, I’d love to have maybe written a book, or maybe sort of a Jeannie Sermonette booklet, something for parents and children alike, so that the family is growing together, at the same pace and all, with GOD‘s Word, I personally like this medium because I’ll never be in it for fortune and fame. I don’t agree with any of that. To high a dropping off place to fall from. To many high-low moments all based on mans opinions of what you are doing right, or doing wrong. Not that I mind education, or Biblical correction, that is always for GOD‘s glory and my betterment to be a better person, and quite honestly, a more faithful influence to the things I myself hold dear to.
Quite honestly I had no intention of sharing all that as an intro. What’s been placed upon my ♥ this morning from the Lord is continuing on in this thing called “fear”, or in the case of Christ, being less fearful in facing all that I am in life. Even on the job. Sometimes, when you do what you’ve been told is the “right thing”, the outcome looks nothing like you did. Do you know what I’m talking about? Answer the question below and follow it up by sharing what you went through afterwards.
Have you ever taken a Biblical stand for something? If so, how did it play out, and if there has been a good outcome from it, even if it was just for you to stand stronger upon your convictions, how did you turn out in the end?
Two Scriptures to read and ponder before continuing on:
- James 1:2
Consider it a sheer gift, friends, when tests and challenges come at you from all sides. You know that under pressure, your faith-life is forced into the open and shows its true colors. So don’t try to get out of anything prematurely. Let it do its work so you become mature and well-developed, not deficient in any way.
- 1 John 2:19
They left us, but they were never really with us. If they had been, they would have stuck it out with us, loyal to the end. In leaving, they showed their true colors, showed they never did belong.
What is the Change of Life?
What impact do those verses play upon your life? What life changing occurrences have happened since you became a CHRISTian? How much have you changed?
The whole point of becoming a new creature in CHRIST is about “The Change” that takes place. Sure as shooting it might not occur over night, and most likely it won’t. It’s a learning curve. We change gradually in some areas, and radically in others. For instance, one thing GOD does say in the Bible is that if we are a new creation, change will happen. It should happen, for we are no longer a part of the schemes and plans of the devil but that of a fresh flowing Spirit of GOD. True some people are not in a growing place. They might have had a warm fuzzy moment of acceptance, or they faked it. Yes, I said they faked it. Some people do you know. Some people in this world love to mock CHRISTians, or infiltrate the Body to cause trouble, or better still, how awesome for satan would it be if nobody ever grew up. If nobody ever grew in-Christ or the Word of GOD? That would be a successful mission, and in some Body’s of Believers across the world, that’s exactly what his people are up to. Yes, his people.
In case you’ve not been taught, some people aren’t the real deal. These the people who claim to Christ through lip service, but they don’t have a clue. For instance those of you who read all those tabloid magazines and spout off about this person or that, as if you know them, when really you just know about them. You don’t have one iota of an inkling to who or what they really are. You know aspects of their lives, lies of their lives, and sure maybe some truths thrown in. You might have even read some things, watched them share some things on television, or heard them tweet, but still, what you really continue to receive is lip service reputation. It’s not who they really are, and you don’t really and truly know them.
Believe it or Not!
Within in the Body there are people like that. They’ve benefited, found a stature of a place in a community and quite possibly, deep, deep down in their ♥ and life, there hasn’t been any change. There is an outward appearance with no inward pivotal moment of Life Change.
2 Corinthians 5:
The Message (MSG)
16-20Because of this decision we don’t evaluate people by what they have or how they look. We looked at the Messiah that way once and got it all wrong, as you know. We certainly don’t look at him that way anymore. Now we look inside, and what we see is that anyone united with the Messiah gets a fresh start, is created new. The old life is gone; a new life burgeons! Look at it! All this comes from the God who settled the relationship between us and him, and then called us to settle our relationships with each other. God put the world square with himself through the Messiah, giving the world a fresh start by offering forgiveness of sins. God has given us the task of telling everyone what he is doing. We’re Christ’s representatives. God uses us to persuade men and women to drop their differences and enter into God’s work of making things right between them. We’re speaking for Christ himself now: Become friends with God; he’s already a friend with you.
When GOD looks at you, does He see a Life Change? I’m not talking about at church, or when you are in a Bible study. I’m not talking about how you dress for success for fitting in at some church function. I’m talking about how well have you dug into His Word for your own enrichment? If you are to be His rep, you better be representing Him with His Word at the helm. If you are calling yourself a Disciple of Christ, a new creation, born again, you best be fitting more into the mold of Christ, than that of the mold of mankind. You can live in this world, but what you are living for, and more importantly Who? That’s the Life Change! Cause sweetie, you cannot fake it and make it with GOD.
The apostles and leaders called a special meeting to consider the matter. The arguments went on and on, back and forth, getting more and more heated. Then Peter took the floor: “Friends, you well know that from early on God made it quite plain that he wanted the pagans to hear the Message of this good news and embrace it—and not in any secondhand or roundabout way, but firsthand, straight from my mouth. And God, who can’t be fooled by any pretense on our part but always knows a person’s thoughts, gave them the Holy Spirit exactly as he gave him to us. He treated the outsiders exactly as he treated us, beginning at the very center of who they were and working from that center outward, cleaning up their lives as they trusted and believed him.
Hitting the Nail on the Head!
Or you maybe. When you hit a nail smack straight on, it digs in. When you and I go through trials and tests, how much better are we from the season of testing? Sometimes, we don’t always get it, or we get it, and then we let it slip through our lives again, and GOD comes along and retrials us so that we remember the lesson we forgot. If we were nails, we can bet that it leaves a mark on the nail, a pivotal impression so to speak. It was where the hammer came down and smack on the nail, it left a shinny indentation. That’s us! We should be having more and more shinny indentation marks from the learning curves of growing up and changing from one life to this new life in Christ Jesus. If we don’t have any of those marks, just maybe we need to take a look at who’s hammer has been coming down upon our lives. We just might be a shinny new looking nail, with nothing for Christ to show to Him, just to the world, how pretty and new we are, without ever having had any really impact upon our world.
Nails are for building up the kingdom.
- John 20:24
But Thomas, sometimes called the Twin, one of the Twelve, was not with them when Jesus came. The other disciples told him, “We saw the Master.” But he said, “Unless I see the nail holes in his hands, put my finger in the nail holes, and stick my hand in his side, I won’t believe it.”
- Mark 15:13
They yelled, “Nail him to a cross!”
- Matthew 27:23
He objected, “But for what crime?” But they yelled all the louder, “Nail him to a cross!”
- Mark 15:14
Pilate objected, “But for what crime?” But they yelled all the louder, “Nail him to a cross!”
- Matthew 27:22
“Then what do I do with Jesus, the so-called Christ?” They all shouted, “Nail him to a cross!”
- Proverbs 28:4
If you desert God’s law, you’re free to embrace depravity; if you love God’s law, you fight for it tooth and nail.
- 1 Samuel 26:8
Abishai said, “This is the moment! God has put your enemy in your grasp. Let me nail him to the ground with his spear. One hit will do it, believe me; I won’t need a second!”
- Psalm 75:2
You say, “I’m calling this meeting to order, I’m ready to set things right. When the earth goes topsy-turvy And nobody knows which end is up, I nail it all down, I put everything in place again. I say to the smart alecks, ‘That’s enough,’ to the bullies, ‘Not so fast.'”
- Numbers 25:16
God spoke to Moses: “From here on make the Midianites your enemies. Fight them tooth and nail. They turned out to be your enemies when they seduced you in the business of Peor and that woman Cozbi, daughter of a Midianite leader, the woman who was killed at the time of the plague in the matter of Peor.”
- Isaiah 22:25
“And then the Day will come,” says God-of-the-Angel-Armies, “when that nail will come loose and fall out, break loose from that solid wall—and everything hanging on it will go with it.” That’s what will happen. God says so.
Some of us need to show some scars that show we are His True Witnesses:
Jesus took the hit for you and I. It was the nails in His Hands that took our sins to the cross. It was He who saved us from sin. Don’t you know that if we are to claim to be His, we are going to face some hits of our own in this world. The Bible says this world isn’t our Home. Jesus went to prepare a place, in the meantime we are going to have to do some Kingdom witnessing here. Our lives are that witness. If we take a hit doing something for Christ, doing something moral, ethical and good, and we end up on earth all the worse for it, but we have that lasting peace, don’t you know that He is so very proud of us. We were willing to do as He did. We forfeit our very own places of comfort for Him.
I’m always amazed…
I just love how you can sit in some mission conference or listen to a missionary speak at a church and see all these people so amazed. They are so touched by how these people can go here or there and face all that they do. When in fact GOD is right there with each individual just waiting for that person to do the same in the mission field where He has placed Him.
Washed White as Snow, really?
Sometimes even when you are doing that right thing, people who say they are of the same mind-a CHRIST centered Biblical mind, won’t stick it out with you. They run away from the person taking the stand, instead of doing what they were suppose to in that GOD-moment. It is at these moments when you and I have a chance to not be that crowd that allowed the crucifixion of an inn0cent to go on. Not much has changed, not many lives have gone through the LIFE CHANGE. We continue to think of the here and now, how we are going to fair after all is said and done, and we don’t want to get our hands, well… quite frankly cleaned! Because when you stand up for something morally, ethically, and especially Biblically wrong, your hands are cleaned up and the change begins.
Maybe your washer is broken and it needs some tweaking…
My washer has broken, but not completely. Quite honestly it’s now intensive labor to do the laundry. We, we the loaders of the dirty laundry actually have to get our hands wet to really clean the laundry because it’s the agitator that broke. The washer fills with water, it empties but never ever spins and gets the dirt out. It takes some muscle to do it. Just as it takes some muscle in our lives to get the dirt out. It’s time for The Body of Christ to stop staying dirty and get a little of the Holy Spirit agitator to get some cleaning done. It’s the only way we are going to bear witness during these times we are living in.
So people it’s time to truly get ready and take a good hard look at ourselves. It’s time to get, as the song and the Psalmist said, to be washed whiter. To have a true, honest to GOD, before GOD witness. We cannot keep running away from the agitator to get clean. The world is watching, and granted it might look like a watered down, not rinsed thoroughly by the Spirit of GOD Body of Believers, THAT’S WHY WE HAVE NO CHOICE, but to allow GOD to change us. GOD does not like that we’ve become complacent and self-absorbed in our pews. GOD wanted us washed, and to be set apart. If you allowed yourself just to mumble some words, and you are fitting in, but not washed, you are in fact dirty laundry again. Cause if you clean up for a moment, but then put that clean clothes back on the dirty laundry pile, guess what? You filled with all sorts of unseen bacteria. Unseen maybe by those around you, but not by GOD. GOD wants so ready to wear clothing people, and ready to be able to wear that new garment one of these fine days when we are called Home.
The Message (MSG)
7-15 Soak me in your laundry and I’ll come out clean,
scrub me and I’ll have a snow-white life.
Tune me in to foot-tapping songs,
set these once-broken bones to dancing.
Don’t look too close for blemishes,
give me a clean bill of health.
God, make a fresh start in me,
shape a Genesis week from the chaos of my life.
Don’t throw me out with the trash,
or fail to breathe holiness in me.
Bring me back from gray exile,
put a fresh wind in my sails!
Give me a job teaching rebels your ways
so the lost can find their way home.
Commute my death sentence, God, my salvation God,
and I’ll sing anthems to your life-giving ways.
Unbutton my lips, dear God;
I’ll let loose with your praise.
Don’t live off of some old clothes stories either. You can’t keep growing if the only growing story you have is one from back in the day. Life in-CHRIST is growing all the time. This is the LIFE CHANGE you and I were called to. Step up to be the change, you want GOD to see in you. Don’t worry about what others think of you. Fear keeps you in the smelly stagnant water. Fear less, and have that, as I said in a previous blog, healthy fear of GOD. On the platter of your life, that’s all that matters.
Until all have heard of, and know His Love,
