Is It Really Christ Your Standing Upon?

On Christ the Solid Rock I stand, or do we?

*GOD*morning, afternoon or evening!

Great words to an even great hymn.  Enter into our hymn world some even more meaningful, perfect for the settings of our lives, worship songs.  The thing is they aren’t just songs.  They aren’t just suppose to move you, make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside, while inside the walls of a church.  They shouldn’t even just be words that move and motivate you at the time of singing.  That’s all good, I mean it can be a convicting moment, but what good is a convicting moment if it doesn’t truly change you.  If all you get out of it, or should I say, to convict us all, if all we give to GOD out of it, is that moment in time, that church service, or even maybe for the rest of the day, what good has it done GOD?

Read the Scripture below and ask yourself, “Do I believe this?”

Mark 10:5
Jesus said, “Moses wrote this command only as a concession to your hardhearted ways. In the original creation, God made male and female to be together. Because of this, a man leaves father and mother, and in marriage he becomes one flesh with a woman—no longer two individuals, but forming a new unity. Because God created this organic union of the two sexes, no one should desecrate his art by cutting them apart.”

Well, do you?

Because if you and I do, we are not to conform to a world that picks this standard for our living apart.  There comes a time, when the faith of our, well, faith, hits the road map of our life and we have got to make a decision and take a stand.  The problem is, what we’ve really done is pick people apart, instead of doing the first thing, which is love.  You see I can have the ability to love someone and yet not agree with them.  That’s the call of Christ in our life.  We don’t even have to condone a behavior, even a sin aspect of someones life, but we sure can love them.

Read these verses, do you believe them?

John 3:4-6

The Message (MSG)

4“How can anyone,” said Nicodemus, “be born who has already been born and grown up? You can’t re-enter your mother’s womb and be born again. What are you saying with this ‘born-from-above’ talk?”

5-6Jesus said, “You’re not listening. Let me say it again. Unless a person submits to this original creation—the ‘wind-hovering-over-the-water’ creation, the invisible moving the visible, a baptism into a new life—it’s not possible to enter God’s kingdom. When you look at a baby, it’s just that: a body you can look at and touch. But the person who takes shape within is formed by something you can’t see and touch—the Spirit—and becomes a living spirit.

Well, do you?

Because if you do, you can live above what is happening around you in this world.  You can love the sinner and the saint all the same.  For me, I might not like the sinful lifestyle of some in my life, but I love them.  I might know in my heart, and because Scripture says so, that sin, is sin in GOD’s Eyes.  It doesn’t look like some denominations might label sin, but sin, in the Eyes of GOD, and in our eyes, should look, well… like sin.  You don’t get to say this sin is white, this is darker, and well, that’s a gray area.  Nope, sin is sin.  Their sin, your sin, my sin.  Sin is sin.  And if that’s not something you believe well, you can’t possibly believe in Christ, because He was the Word, the very Word made flesh.  You can no more take Jesus out of the Word, then take the Word, and the Work GOD had for His own Son, out of Him.

Let me end with this little side note.  What would the world look like if we recognized people for who they are, now.  Think on some names of people in your life, who not until they died, did you begin to know them.  Say, they died, and suddenly at their funeral you started hearing all the stories different people told of their life.  You begin to see a bigger picture, and most likely a bigger person behind the very small, inconsequential person that once was in your life.  When was the last time you gave time to someone you seldom give any time to?  Well, it’s about time you did.  People are the only things we can take with us to Heaven.  We aren’t going to take the wealth, fame, the things we claim.  We are just plain and simple, going to lead people to Christ by our witness, and one of those witness traits is “love”.  Not condoning a sin, but love.

This year, if you’ve set some resolutions, and you are a Believer in-Christ, set a goal to get to know someone you hardly have given the time of day to.  Even if that person’s lifestyle is unlike that of yours.  I’m not saying to join them in some sinful activity, I’m saying make an effort to get to know someone in a more meaningful way.  Someone maybe that goes unnoticed in your church.  Someone who isn’t related to one of the pastors, the choir, nope, you need to seek out, by the Spirit’s leading you, someone that often sits alone.  Someone who is one of the unnoticed, someone who you might not even think serves, but do they serve GOD in ways you don’t even know?

This month begin to sing “Above All” every morning.  Write the words down if you have to, and commit to them.  If you put all other things aside in your life, and stop allowing man to lead you, we all together can put GOD above all.  Above all powers, above all elections, above created things.  Above the wisdom on the television and in the news, above the thrones of earth.  Above all the wonders of electronics, above all things that man measures as measurable to own and have.  Let’s show GOD that His Son, our personal Savior did not get crucified, died, and rose again, all for not.  Let’s show GOD that we can do this “Above All” living because He was crucified, died, and saved us for something so much better of a life, than we’ve been living for Him.

I dare you today to be different.  To step out at work and love someone who maybe even everyone else makes fun of.  Step out and love the sinner, because the only difference between them and you, is you’ve accepted that you have been saved by the Grace of Jesus Christ.  Just maybe, and I know it’s a maybe, the love you show, will be the very love that one day sinks in and leads someone to sing themselves,

“Shout to the Lord all the earth let us sing, power and majesty praise to the King, mountains bow down and the seas will roar at the sound of Your Name.  I sing for joy at the works of Your Hands, forever I’ll love You, Forever I’ll stand.  Nothing compares to the promise I have in You.”

What if because of you, one day you had a part in them singing that song.  What if because you chose to recognize someone while they were yet still a sinner, like Christ did for all, their life one day became radically and forever and always changed.  What if your actions depended upon it, would you do it?  Well, if GOD put you in their path, I’m guessing it does.

Now go, and shout to the Lord and allow His Holy Spirit to put a new song, and just maybe a new chance to know a new name that might get written down in the Lambs Book of Life.

Until all have heard and know of His love,

Jeannie Bee

P.S.  This is just between you and GOD.  So don’t go shouting to anyone but the Lord, the plans He has for you and whomever it is that you will now allow into your life.
