The big question GOD would ask us today is…
What’s that not in your hand?
2 Corinthians 10:3-6
3-6The world is unprincipled. It’s dog-eat-dog out there! The world doesn’t fight fair. But we don’t live or fight our battles that way—never have and never will. The tools of our trade aren’t for marketing or manipulation, but they are for demolishing that entire massively corrupt culture. We use our powerful God-tools for smashing warped philosophies, tearing down barriers erected against the truth of God, fitting every loose thought and emotion and impulse into the structure of life shaped by Christ. Our tools are ready at hand for clearing the ground of every obstruction and building lives of obedience into maturity.
It’s “In the beginning” and “it’s till death do we part” if we don’t get the Word out.
In a day of being able to have unconcealed weapons we in the Body have put down our weapon, the one that GOD said never would be returned void. Sure, some wear it on a t-shirt, carry it, post it, and bring it as if it’s something of a banner over them of showing that they believe. That’s all good. We do need to get the Word out there. However, what about just carrying your Bible, opening it up before people and sharing what you say you believe.
It would appear that the Bible has taken a back seat and has minimal influence now, not because it still isn’t what GOD said, the whole Truth and nothing but the Truth, GOD! Nope, it’s because…
1. Some don’t really know what it is they could have in their hand.
2. People are embarrassed, which is really bad, because Jesus was the Word, and He warned that if you couldn’t profess Him, that includes carrying that Sword of Spirit–The B-I-B-L-E, He was not going to recognize you either. NOT GOOD.
3. Some people have been convinced that you don’t need. That it scares people away. Really? Did GOD say that or some preacher teacher man/woman? Cause, really???
4. satan. Yep, he’d be the stinking mastermind behind the “really?” He does not want us carrying that Word around where someone could actually look at the pages of it and read it for themselves. He knows exactly how powerful the Word of GOD is and well, let’s face it, if we are dumbed down enough to believe it scares someone away from conversation, we’re pretty much allowing satan to dumb us down too. Remember how satan tried to trick Jesus–The Living Word with the Word in Matthew 4. Well you should, if you can listen to the Word from a pastor on Sunday, you sure as shoot’en better know it yourself on Monday-Saturday.
In Matthew 4 satan thinks he’s a little smarty pants himself and he’s got the power to tempt Jesus into doing his bidding. He actually believes he can bring Jesus into his gang, or at the time, his legion. Guess what happens? Nope, I’m going to let you go find it for yourself. Because you see when you don’t have the Word of GOD, and you just like snippets of it on Sunday from someone, or in some more socially accepted setting of a Bible study fellowship, where there is little Bible and mostly fellowship, you are doing exactly what satan does in Matthew 4. Go see for yourself. If you can’t find what I’m speaking about, if nobody has ever told you how important it is to carry “that Bible” don’t just keep it inside you, you might not find it. If so, let me know here and I’ll show you. However, just pray, read and allow GOD to reveal to You the very Truth of His Word, and the… oops, nope, I’m not going to share.
Not much has changed people. Today satan is dumbing down Jesus’ own. Those who’ve given their life to Him, and how are we repaying Jesus… afraid to be embarrassed by bringing the Word, we try to slide it in. As if bringing it in the form of a verse or two is just so pretty for us, but really??? satan knew the Word of God spelled trouble for him, so in that place of tempting, he being who he is, the master manipulator and trickster extraordinaire, he jumps in with both feet, and he has a solid believing, well… believing in himself actually.
“And now a Word from our Sponsor.” GOD
What you thought we’d make it easy on you? Bring Matthew 4 straight up? Nope, you’ve got to go grab the Bible, but in the meantime, in this Word brought to you by GOD, we present the weapon, the one and only weapon you need to bring Jesus…
The Message (MSG)
Spread Out! Think Big!
1-6 “Sing, barren woman, who has never had a baby.
Fill the air with song, you who’ve never experienced childbirth!
You’re ending up with far more children
than all those childbearing women.” God says so!
“Clear lots of ground for your tents!
Make your tents large. Spread out! Think big!
Use plenty of rope,
drive the tent pegs deep.
You’re going to need lots of elbow room
for your growing family.
You’re going to take over whole nations;
you’re going to resettle abandoned cities.
Don’t be afraid—you’re not going to be embarrassed.
Don’t hold back—you’re not going to come up short.
You’ll forget all about the humiliations of your youth,
and the indignities of being a widow will fade from memory.
For your Maker is your bridegroom,
his name, God-of-the-Angel-Armies!
Your Redeemer is The Holy of Israel,
known as God of the whole earth.
You were like an abandoned wife, devastated with grief,
and God welcomed you back,
Like a woman married young
and then left,” says your God.
7-8Your Redeemer God says: “I left you, but only for a moment.
Now, with enormous compassion, I’m bringing you back.
In an outburst of anger I turned my back on you—
but only for a moment.
It’s with lasting love
that I’m tenderly caring for you.
9-10“This exile is just like the days of Noah for me:
I promised then that the waters of Noah
would never again flood the earth.
I’m promising now no more anger,
no more dressing you down.
For even if the mountains walk away
and the hills fall to pieces,
My love won’t walk away from you,
my covenant commitment of peace won’t fall apart.”
The God who has compassion on you says so.
11-17“Afflicted city, storm-battered, unpitied:
I’m about to rebuild you with stones of turquoise,
Lay your foundations with sapphires,
construct your towers with rubies,
Your gates with jewels,
and all your walls with precious stones.
All your children will have God for their teacher—
what a mentor for your children!
You’ll be built solid, grounded in righteousness,
far from any trouble—nothing to fear!
far from terror—it won’t even come close!
If anyone attacks you,
don’t for a moment suppose that I sent them,
And if any should attack,
nothing will come of it.
I create the blacksmith
who fires up his forge
and makes a weapon designed to kill.
I also create the destroyer—
but no weapon that can hurt you has ever been forged.
Any accuser who takes you to court
will be dismissed as a liar.
This is what God’s servants can expect.
I’ll see to it that everything works out for the best.”
♪♫Yes that’s the book for me, I stand alone on the Word of GOD, the B-I-B-L-E.♪♫
What you thought that was just a children’s song? You’d be sort of right, which is basically what satan was in Matthew 4. Sort of however doesn’t get you the passing grade, and in fact can often do more harm to both Believer and to the unbeliever. The half right is that it was meant for children, GOD’s children. People willing to carry that Bible and not act as if it’s memorized and we are going to go forth. What ended up happening is a bunch of people who’ve hidden the Word of GOD in their heart (which is GREAT), but now it’s sort of a medal of honor they’ve given themselves. They quote it, show it, share it like they are special agents who made it into a secret club. Trust me, if you stink at memorizing you understand this. GOD never meant for this to be. He meant for us to carry that Bible not just keep it inside us. The Bible is a terrible thing to waste sitting on a shelf. Sure, you could bring your new fangled ipad or Kindle or what have you. You could share it that way, you could show it that way, or show off… OUCH! Or, you could carry the actual Bible. I’m just saying… I’ve carried that Bible, shared that Bible, even with strangers at Starbucks, and said Bible with them. Yep, even it was a brand new Bible, a gift from someone. Yep, I did, and I do, and I’ll continue to do that. Why? Really??? Because it’s not the fact that I do share the Bible, it’s the fact that I’m being obedient to GOD and sharing the Bible!!! If they read it, not me, that’s where the change really takes place. I’ve already been changed, and I’m still changing and still growing. That is the point of the step of growing, growing, growing. It’s use me, but also you need to have the equipment with you.
Okay so you are still going to say, but the person could just throw it in the trash, or leave it, or mock you. Really??? What do I care. That’s between GOD and them. The B-I-B-L-E the Book for me, was also for them, so that they might know. What happens in that moment, even if they trash it, will leave a mark, a memory mark upon them. I entrust GOD to the after part. After all there is only One Savior and I am not Him. So I leave people in the hands of a very capable GOD.
Until all have heard of His Love,
