~Simply Put, Love Isn’t Simple At All~

If you will learn anything at all about me, I’m a very eclectic writer.  I move with the Spirit and often that leads me to a song in the heart.   Or a video that moves me.  Today I’ve got both.  A little snippet at the beginning for you to listen to, a song and a word of wisdom from Francis Chan.

Please above all else, even before bookmarking this blog of mine, so you have a way back… Pray before proceeding, allow Him to move you as He sees fit.

Saturate Yourself in His Love:

and if you don’t see me posting here again, and we never get to have this time together again, I hope, oh I so hope, I see you There!

Today we are dressing for His success, and that just might mean we need to select something off the rack of  humility wear.

This morning I awoke to be in prayer.  Have you ever had that happen?  I have, and it’s an amazing moment in deed.  It means that I was praying, even in the state of sleep.  It means that unceasing prayer was going on for me and though in a state of what we call sleep, I was praying.  It wasn’t a dream, and I know this because what I woke to be dreaming about was a seventeen year old young man.  A real person who unknown to me personally, he is known to God.

This is how much GOD loves us.  It’s not likened to the love we know, and I don’t think we’ve even scratched the surface of how serious GOD takes this concept of love.  We love to talk about love, sing about love, write about love, and above all, we love to be loved.

This is a quote from one of my favorite authors. “There is nothing worth living for unless it is worth dying for.”  Elisabeth Elliott

So today I propose this for us all (or at least anyone who reads this):

Bothered by petty annoyances and simple minded people?  Give it all Up!  No, really, give it Up! Give it all up to the Lord in exchange for praying for people.  People with some serious problems in life.  Like those around you who don’t yet know the deep, deep love of Jesus.  Or try praying for the young, 17 year old young man who just two weeks tomorrow, hit and killed my neighbor.  It was accident, nobody’s at fault, but love is what he needs to know and see right now, especially the love of GOD.  He needs to be comforted, as does her family, because a whole lot of love and loss is going on in this situation for sure.

Or, how about the man with cancer, or his wife?  How about if I tell you neither of which know the Lord.   Is some known love missing there?  GOD says it is.   That’s not enough of an example?  How about the man, or woman, or children who are facing the world today through divorce?  How about still continuing on in living love out loud to your children when you hurt so very bad from love withheld, taken, gone?  Love taken, and still loving to go on and teaching love to your children, and to others.  You don’t know how this all happened, you may no some “whys?”, but no matter no how, or why, is truly something anyone who’s experienced it will tell, it is certainly not simple.  And, GOD unlike the secular song: “What’s Love Got To Do With It?”, GOD says it has everything to do with everything.

Micah 6:7-9

The Message (MSG)

6-7How can I stand up before God
and show proper respect to the high God?
Should I bring an armload of offerings
topped off with yearling calves?
Would God be impressed with thousands of rams,
with buckets and barrels of olive oil?
Would he be moved if I sacrificed my firstborn child,
my precious baby, to cancel my sin?

8But he’s already made it plain how to live, what to do,
what God is looking for in men and women.
It’s quite simple: Do what is fair and just to your neighbor,
be compassionate and loyal in your love,
And don’t take yourself too seriously—
take God seriously.

9Attention! God calls out to the city!
If you know what’s good for you, you’ll listen.
So listen, all of you!
This is serious business.

Love in its purest form is wonderful, but it hurts. Don’t let anyone tell you any different. It hurts in giving, in getting, and it hurts in having been taken away from you. Love simply, is not an option for anyone who truly desires to be in-love. Love is never simple. Love is much to important to be bundled into a package of simplicity. Love, when mixed with people’s emotions and vast array of feelings is something way to powerful to ever be categorized as anything but that of something to be simplified.

Today as I was praying for a lot of folks who are dealing with illnesses I got to thinking about those dealing in loss of love.  Those who are feeling unloved.  People who are being dragged through the courts because of love lost.  Folks facing hardship because something they once loved to do, is no more.

The truth is people are facing a lot complications in life and a lot of them deal with love.  Even if it’s an illness, it’s all about a love for living that might be altered, changed, or even lost here on earth.  Somehow it all seems to boil down to love.  Love withheld, love given, love taken, love that lasts for an Eternity.  Love is complicated, but love is so very, very much worth living for, for there is a love that lasts for an Eternity, and in it there is no more “till death do we part”.  In that love, you will find the truest, the purest sense of Love.

Yet the world has made love something it is not.  Something it was never intended to be.  Something casual, something to be distasteful, something possibly not even worth fighting for.  But that’s the world, not GOD’s viewpoint.

God?  We don’t have to go to far to know what GOD thinks of love.  God thought love to be so important, so unbelievably complex, yet so available to all, He packaged up the most beautiful gift of love in His SON.  God did what nobody else could possibly have done in the human form, because we are sinful, and made a way for us to love for an Eternity.  Can you say that about anyone else and their abilities?  I know the answer to that and it’s NO!!!

So next time you begin to simplify love into some human condition, form, song, or phrase, know this, it can’t be done.  Love is complicated even in the simplest of  human forms.  Love is just to important to be taken in any other way except that of something pure, something noble, something to be given, not used up and spilled out as if it was not the purest, most wonderful thing ever.

You know today, maybe the thing you love isn’t even a person.  Maybe it’s a job, a home, a way of life you’ve become accustomed to and “whoosh” it is going, going, gone, or about to be.  No worries my sweet friend, GOD is in the replacement business.  He not only can replace what was loved and lost, He has been in the business of supplying replacement parts much longer than that of mankind.

Next time you want to take love away from someone you love, because they don’t love you back, don’t!  There is never anything wrong with loving another, it’s just that you do need to learn to guard your heart in the matters of love, life, and living.  Follow the example that Jesus set before us.  If it wasn’t for that love, we would still have to keep trying to find a way to be near to GOD.

Guard Your Heart, by Steve Green:

“Humility is to expect nothing, to wonder at nothing done to us, to feel nothing against us.  It is to be at rest when nobody praises us and when we are blamed and despised.  It is to have a blessed home in the Lord where we can go in and shut the door and kneel to our Father in secret, and be at peace when all around is trouble.”  Andrew Murray

Ready to wear, Jesus Wear!

Until all have heard of His love,
