How much does a drippy faucet cost?

How much does a drippy faucet cost?

Ever use a drip calculator? No, really! It calculates how much water a drippy faucet actually flows. Oh, your still one of the masses who think it’s just one small drop and it doesn’t add up to much of anything. Check this out:

“There is no scientific definition of the volume of a faucet drip, but after measuring a number of kitchen and bathroom sink faucets, the volume seems to be between 1/5th and 1/3rd of a milliliter (mL). Drips from bathroom tubs come in a bit more, though, at about 1/2 mL. So, for our calculations below (numbers are rounded), we are going to use 1/4 mL as the volume of a faucet drip.

So, by these drip estimates:
One gallon: 15,140 drips
One liter: 4,000 drips”

Sounds crazy right? Doesn’t look like a drop can really make a difference. That’s where you’d be wrong, if you go to the calculator and put into play “real-time” in drips, it adds up to a flood.

Imagine now if you would, what the world around us would look like if we truly did flow with the love of Jesus.  For just as this world isn’t our home, the opposite of needing to be a drip, which is not so wonderful in this world, is an amazingly wonderful thing to be for Jesus.

I see it every day. Okay, let me be specific here on what I’m seeing most days, and what I especially saw when I worked on Sunday, when all the church people who come in from being in church service, come dripping in to shop. Only to be quite honest, what they dripped on the saved or unsaved at work wasn’t exactly going to get anyone to want what was dripping off of them.

For the sake of bringing showers of blessings to the unsaved world, or at the very least some encouragement to a brother or sister in-Christ who yes, does have to work on Sunday, I’ve designed this fancy, shmancy Spirit flowing calculator of my own. Enter how many drips of the Holy Spirit filled moments dropped off you, and onto someone else. What? You can’t get an exact calculation. Oh yes you can. I think deep, deep down we know when we are behaving in a manner unbecoming of belonging to Jesus. Quite honestly I think we each know when we yielded more to our own selfish ways, and less to surrendering to the witness.

No worries though, it’s not to late to become a drip for Jesus. You don’t need to know if it made a difference, GOD will know that. He after all is the One who changes a heart. All you have to do is bring it, and leave a sweet flow of running spirit-filled water. Let’s take a look at the chart and how it’s all going to flow:

Spirit Flow Chart:

  • Number of places visited: ___
  • Number of people who saw you love them with His love: ___
  • Number of Spirit filled drops left behind: ___

You see even though this calculator doesn’t work to the naked eye, it most definitely left behind a watermark. It either was a stain that you once had that was crimson and now shows the love of Jesus in your life, and this is what makes you so loving, leaving someone wanting to know that love.  Or, at the very least someone wondering how it is you can rise above the yuck muck of life and still love. At worst, it left behind a stain that will take a while to remove.

Remember every step we take, every move we make, if we want to sing the songs, we better be dripping with the love of Jesus in the outside world. Don’t even bother to sing the song that you’ve been washed in the blood, or moving to his sweet flowing beat, if you can’t bring to a seriously lost, lonely, unloved world.

Remember this is a water flow that was paid in full by Jesus.  So before you go out into your day each day, remember that Jesus paid it all, it is truly all to Him we owe.  Our sin today still leaves a crimson stain.  If we don’t bring the sweet, sweet flow to the world around us, don’t expect to see any difference in it.  Truly a full flowing, functioning world washed clean, begins with one drip.

~Father GOD~ Turn the tap on! Use Your filtered Spirit flowing water that brings Life within us, to reach a world that has tasted much too much unfiltered flowing cheap talk and walks. May it be that the world around us where we shop, we eat, we work, we play, we gather, see someone who presents You in a way that makes them begin to thirst for the sweet, sweet love of Jesus. In Jesus’ name alone, Amen~

Now you are so very ready to sing, sing, sing, shout, shout, shout, drip, drip, drip!  Just remember, it’s you, in a small way, but it’s Jesus in you, in a BIG WAY!

It’s going to take you to create a bridge over many a troubled watered life to show the world that what we’ve got going on, what is flowing within us, is something we not only claim, but we are so filled up to the brim with Him, we are willing to get a little bit dirty because it is Jesus who paid it all.  All to Him we owe!

1 John 5

1-3Every person who believes that Jesus is, in fact, the Messiah, is God-begotten. If we love the One who conceives the child, we’ll surely love the child who was conceived. The reality test on whether or not we love God’s children is this: Do we love God? Do we keep his commands? The proof that we love God comes when we keep his commandments and they are not at all troublesome.

The Power That Brings the World to Its Knees

4-5Every God-begotten person conquers the world’s ways. The conquering power that brings the world to its knees is our faith. The person who wins out over the world’s ways is simply the one who believes Jesus is the Son of God.
